We are currently looking for a Senior Development Engineer (m/f/d) for the area Vehicle Control Passenger Coaches in Vienna. Our Passenger Coaches are manufactured in Vienna and other Siemens locations, and they transport people across Europe in day and night trains such as the Railjet for Austrian and Czech railway operators.
Tasks
- You will be responsible for the technical and organizational management of a team of experts responsible for the electrical and IT integration of in-house and third-party components in rail vehicles.
- You will participate in the creation of the vehicle system architecture.
- In coordination with the vehicle architect, you select the control units, displays, peripheral devices and the data recorder (black box).
- Your team's work is based on requirements, which you clarify in discussions with internal and external customers.
- You are also responsible for creating the electrical parts of supplier specifications.
- Coordination meetings with internal and external customers as well as with other development engineers and technical sub-project managers are part of the daily work routine.
- As the cost, schedule and quality manager for your work area, you will report regularly to project management and line management.
Skills
- You have successfully completed a technical degree in e.g. electrical, software, mechanical or railway engineering.
- You have several years of professional experience in the field of engineering (advantageous rail vehicle technology).
- Ideally you are familiar with the components of a rail vehicle, in particular a modern passenger coach. You understand how they work and have experience in embedding and controlling these components through the vehicle control system.
- You have experience in leading expert teams of up to 10 people.
- As part of your job, you will also be required to travel frequently to customers, suppliers and other Siemens locations.
What else do I need to know?
We offer an attractive remuneration package in line with your qualifications and professional experience. The gross annual salary according to the collective agreement for this position is at least EUR 65.036 based on 38.5 working hours per week. Depending on your education and experience, overpayment is possible. As a large corporation, Siemens also offers additional social benefits.
